From TrueHockey.com (strick's site)

"Sources indicate Jamie Langenbrunner is in the process of calling Doug Armstrong to notify the Blues GM of his decision.....Stay Tuned"

The tank for Yakupov is officially on in St. Louis...

:sarcasm:

Zaphod 07-06-2011 12:31 PM

is he bringing the touch of death with him?

TOML 07-06-2011 12:32 PM

Question: Why?

Better be a 1yr deal.

Vitto79 07-06-2011 12:32 PM

Blues are a weird team they always get hurt. They should break out soon

Langenbrunner and Nichol are good bottom 6 vets to help the kids

Use the Schwartz* 07-06-2011 12:34 PM

What's wrong with Langenbrunner?

GM17* 07-06-2011 12:34 PM

Too bad cancerbrunner thinks he's a top line winger, but I'm sure the (probable) lack of decent offers in addition to the horror season have knocked him back down to earth somewhat.

The Big Giant Head 07-06-2011 12:36 PM

He's got his Stanley cup, just playing out the rest of his career to make some money for retirement. He'll be a good veteran presence for them and still can put away 15-20goals a season. For the right price, its not a bad pick up, good for st. louis.

re5piration 07-06-2011 12:38 PM

You can pencil the Blues out of the playoffs now:facepalm:

britdevil 07-06-2011 12:39 PM

Good luck Jamie. He'll be an ok addition for them, if he can keep his head out of his ass.

SteenMachine 07-06-2011 12:39 PM

Why so much hate for a guy who's just depth at this point?

Nothing's wrong with him. He had a tough season last year, but still has quite a bit left in the tank. Knowing the Blues financial situation, I'm sure Armstrong got him at a reasonable number. He'll be given a chance to slide in a top six role.

Combined Devils & Stars records with Langenbrunner in the line-up: 23-39-8

Combined Devils & Stars records without Langenbrunner in the line-up: 57-29-8

The 2010-11 NHL season was not a kind one to Langenbrunner.

Larsson 07-06-2011 12:40 PM

If he can put his ego in check, then he should be fine in St. Louis.

I don't think he's "just depth." He'll be given a shot to be a key contributor.

So long as he knows he's a depth player then it's fine

TOML 07-06-2011 12:41 PM

The move makes more sense after learning that Perron isn't close to returning.

David Perron (concussion) hasn't begun his off-season training. It remains to be seen if Perron will be healthy for the start of the 2011-12 season. ...
Ouch.

He doesn't project onto the Blues' top 6. I don't see why this is anything but a solid signing of an experienced vet with some leadership to play on the 3rd line. If he breaks down for a stretch, the team has enough depth to be OK. He's a depth signing and a good one.

He's also got enough left in the tank to slide into the top 6 for a while if there is an injury there. I love this for the Blues, if the signing is confirmed.

Ouch.

Perron is just faking it. He's waiting until a game 7 of the playoffs to make the most dramatic return possible.

The 2010-11 NHL season was not a kind one to Langenbrunner.

The Devils and Stars had problems that had nothing to do with Langenbrunner. All of this "touch of death" crap is getting old...

MB94 07-06-2011 12:52 PM

Alright who wants to pull out the stats of when Langs was with the devils and the record devils had when he left. And then Dallas record before Langs and our record with Langs?

Then you will see what's wrong with him

Burrows19 07-06-2011 12:54 PM

Solid depth signing.
