#16: Daniel Pribyl

You mean #18?

wedge 07-13-2011 11:21 AM

Dumont

Chris Cutter 07-13-2011 11:28 AM

I don't get how Andrew Conboy that's 1 year away from making it to the NHL might not be in the top 20 :shakehead

Watsatheo 07-13-2011 11:45 AM

Dumont, his last year in the Q was very good and he had a strong playoffs this year in the AHL.

Nice snag, thanks.

pine* 07-13-2011 11:51 AM

Pateryn.

Add Schultz.

Dr_Hook 07-13-2011 12:00 PM

Glad that Pribyl won the last one. Now time for Patteryn

WeThreeKings 07-13-2011 12:07 PM

Andrew Conboy again.
Add Klubertanz if we consider him a prospect.

dcal64 07-13-2011 12:12 PM

Conboy, add Schultz.

Hmm, I guess we still have his rights. But he's gone back to Djurgarden for 2 years, after which even if he comes back he'll be 27/28.

We still have to add:

Westin
Cichy
Johnson
Schultz
Masse
Lefebvre

Goalies:
Simila
Mayer
Delmas

I think that's it. Kishel isn't even a full-time NCAA player at age 22, and we just lost his rights, right?

RoyBoyCoy 07-13-2011 12:38 PM

I went Pateryn again. Add Westin.

We lost the rights to Simila and we will very likely lose the rights to Johnson in 4 weeks. Kishel should be a regular next season but it's not like anyone is going to vote for him, he's likely at very bottom unless someone thinks Mayer is worse.

Schultz should be on the list, wouldn't be surprised to see him get some NHL games in a couple years.

So no Simila, Johnson or Kishel. Sounds good.

So left we have

Westin
Cichy
Schultz
Masse
Lefebvre

Goalies:
Mayer
Delmas

Because there are guys that might be 2 years away that should be even better? In my opinion, a top prospect list should end up placing guys in order of who you'd be less willing to give up (think "trade value", if you must), regardless of how close they are to graduating or not.

edit: I went with Dumont. If a trade was set up, and we absolutely HAD to throw someone in to balance the value, he's the guy on the list I'd be the least willing to include.

Really? Id have Dustin Walsh, Mark MacMillan and Quailer protected before him. Even though I am voting Conboy ahead, those three are the ones if they pan out, will make you kick yourself. Dumont would be an acceptable loss.

Scotianhab 07-13-2011 01:17 PM

Conboy.

Add Westin.

It's just a matter of perception.

Personnaly, I can't see what's in Conboy. He's a fourth liner who can't score and can't fight, and who's not really known for his defensive abilities. Many people are tired of seeing Moen. Well, to me, Conboy is a poor man Moen.

But I respect your perception of Conboy, especially since I wish you're right. A reasonably fast big body would be welcomed.

Until Conboy actually learns to fight, I'm not sure what his role will be in the NHL. Undisciplined agitator?

I can't believe how much the guy gets slept on via HF members.

Sorry but the P-Boys shouldn't be before Dumont

Conboy's best asset is his physical game, he can really crush people into the boards with his mix of size and speed. He can score though, he's shown some decent hands while playing on the 3rd line this year.

He could be a solid 4th liner, a big frame that moves well and loves to hit people. I don't think you have to have 4th liners that can fight, he can be a good energy player imo.

bcv 07-13-2011 02:16 PM

Quailer

I remember that guy going toe to toe with Pacioretty at his first camp. Freaking injuries.

Well, that's the way I see it too. I didn't know he has decent hands, tho. Thanks for the info.

That said, I would say that the description your giving of him fits pretty well with that impressive amount of guys that never make it. Not saying he won't, but it is not that hard to find those type of guys...
