Video might work.

BacklundtoBartschi* 07-14-2011 11:53 AM

Any reasoning behind it?

Andy 07-14-2011 11:53 AM

Great Success!

I hope he scores 72 goals next season.

Gros Bonhomme 07-14-2011 11:54 AM

Let's see his reasoning now.

hototogisu 07-14-2011 11:58 AM

 So ugly. I wonder what the significance is? Was really hoping he'd go with 8.

He wore 72 in Junior B in Ontario.

Gros Bonhomme 07-14-2011 11:59 AM

Wore it for one season in Jr B. He also asked Gionta how much he thought it would cost to get 26 from Gorges and never got a reply, so he understood that as it's not for sale.

Never saw 72 coming... Weird number.

Was he a big Ron-Hextall-as-Nordique fan at the time? This is bizarre.

CareyClutch 07-14-2011 12:01 PM

bad ass number.

Crimson Skorpion 07-14-2011 12:02 PM

Not a bad choice. Who was the last player to wear the number?

I'm drawing a blank and am using too slow of a computer to research it, but did Carle see any time with the Habs?

EDIT: Nevermind. 3 games in 2009-10. Anybody a little more effective?

Gros Bonhomme 07-14-2011 12:06 PM

3 games in the 09-10 season. :)

According to the Habs website, no he was the only one to ever wear the 72.

WeThreeKings 07-14-2011 12:08 PM

Gorges and Gionta didn't message him back?

Jerks.

Hannibal 07-14-2011 12:09 PM

Ugly number...

I had the same reaction.

Weird number to chose. I guess 79 was already taken (birth year). 72 might be a sister or brother's birth year...

11Goat11 07-14-2011 12:10 PM

So who's wearing 15?

ThaDevilGirl 07-14-2011 12:11 PM

Too bad he's not a defenseman, he'd fit right in with Markov, Subban and Gill.

Yes... by Markov ;)

However Cole said (as someone else did further up) that he had 72 in Junior B.
