Yep. Gave up money in order to go straight to his arbitration years, I guess (even though he's such a hard guy to find comparables for, much less get offer sheet leverage, that he might never have been in line for a really big payday).

Ha! That's awesome. He'll get a hefty boost when arbitration eligible, as I am sure he's been told. Without the benefit of arbitration rights, UFA rights, and no offer sheets, as Barry stated publicly (perhaps unwisely), there are not a lot of options.

He'll get paid in two years. JP Barry is one of the top 2-3 agents in the game. This wasn't simply a poor agent; this is a player without leverage signing about market value for a guy with as few rights as he has and no points to boot.

Just when Hamrlik, Poti and Erskine's salaries will be coming off the books.

Though Cap Geek doesn't have it up yet, we were 400 k under, I assume the 1.3 to Alzner would make it 900 k over then. Poti going to LTIR takes 2.875 away which translates then to us being 1.9 under. Couple that with just moving Jeff Schultz's 2.75 would be more than enough for resigning Scott Hannan then.
