Would you take Komi Back For...

Komi was terrific with Markov, he has a bad contract but could be worth it IF he can regain his confidence under the guidance of Markov... For the record I am on the fence but

Komi 2 more years @ $4.5 mil
For
Spacek at $3.8 for 1 years

Komi --- Markov
Georges---Subban
Weber---Gill
Yemelin

I think that D is stronger and has some size.

Player 61 07-16-2011 08:06 PM

He crossed the line, so no! banned for life!

LeHab 07-16-2011 08:09 PM

Nope, not even if his contract was better. Traitor!

swimmer77 07-16-2011 08:09 PM

Not a chance.

Spacek isn't as bad as some make him out to be. And if one of the more offensive minded d-men goes down he can offer something to compensate whereas Komi would be another albatross.

No way with Price and Subban up for renewal. LOL

No, no, no way.

No I wouldnt take him back.

Your defensive pair are wrong.(Gill on RD and Weber on LD, Komi on LD and Markov on RD??)

Who is Georges?

LeHab 07-16-2011 08:12 PM

To add, many Ds will look good with Markov.

Whitesnake 07-16-2011 08:12 PM

No please no.

Coldplay 07-16-2011 08:14 PM

**** him.

Zorba 07-16-2011 08:15 PM

Gauthier should take Komisarek back, then Molson can bury his traitor ass in Hamilton so he can rot.

Player 61 07-16-2011 08:15 PM

Come on NY, he was adored in this City, they had posters of him on Ste-Catherine Street & he turned his back on us for a few extra bucks!

He's never aloud back!

+1

if we get him back its for a giant piniata party.

RoyBoyCoy 07-16-2011 08:18 PM

He can go rot in.. well Toronto..

Habs 4 Life 07-16-2011 08:20 PM

I'd rather have Spacek, that's how bad Komisarek has become

Teufelsdreck 07-16-2011 08:21 PM

Why should the Habs do the Leafs an immense favor?

LeMAD 07-16-2011 08:21 PM

Not because he's a traitor or anything, but because Spacek is a decent player, while Komisarek isn't.

Crimson Skorpion 07-16-2011 08:24 PM

I've already permabanned him from these parts.

Answer is no.

LyricalLyricist 07-16-2011 08:25 PM

If komisarek still played like he used to, I'd put past aside and take him back because he was at times, an absolute beast. That being said, he regressed quite a lot, and I wouldn't want him back because of that. I care about having best team, if komisarek was an upgrade, i'd do it(he isn't though).

Hackett 07-16-2011 08:25 PM

not a chance. We're lucky enough that he took toronto's offer and left.

shutehinside 07-16-2011 08:27 PM

Despite his unforgivable betrayal, Komi was a serviceable defensman in the right pairing. However, he's fallen so far down the ladder that I don't think we'd even get back the Komi of old, but rather a player who's a shell of his former self who would no longer be asked to take a leadership role. For that and a bunch of other reasons I say he should dwindle into the dried up turd he's become. I'd rather have Spacek for another 2 years then take Komi back.

bcv 07-16-2011 08:35 PM

I kinda feel bad for the guy. I'm pretty sure I can speak for all of us (Habs fans) and say that he was the future captain of this team. He was a leader on and off the ice. Perhaps he didn't have any real offensive output, but god damn, he was a rock defensively. All that while being physical and punishing (anyone remember his hit on Thornton in the playoffs?). Komisarek vs Tucker was such a treat to watch.

Whenever he was on the ice, I was "happy". Now, whenever he's on the ice, I'm still happy..

TL;DR : No.

@bcv Nobody is questioning what he did for us, Just when the pressure cooker heated up he ran. Many of us liked him & when he left the way he did! Well it's just a good thing the rest of us stay & fight! If he went to LA or something, but not the enemy!

Pressure cooker? He went from Montreal to Toronto.

Don't kid yourself, it was all about the money. Toronto simply offered a price that Montreal wasn't ready to offer.
