OT: Phoenix Signs Brett Hull

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=93858

I posted this here because I wonder what everyone's opinion is on how this effects JR and his comments about Phoenix. Phoenix now has 4 really good wingers, Hull, Johnson, Nagy, and Doan. Do they have enough room on the payroll/desire to make a run at JR? I personally think that they won't try for me, but any other opinions?

If JR was serious then I think he'd want to go there even more now.

If JR really does wanna go out to Phoenix now, what do you think we could get back, and would they take someone else off our hands as well? How about Roenick + something for Morris + something?

They won't get Morris or anybody that good. I'd be fine w/ Spiller and a 1st or something like that. The Flyers would have to get Zhamnov signed first, and then work on finding a replacement at RW before they could even think of dealing Roenick.

Are there any scoring wingers out there who aren't 80 years old? I'd like to see someone with speed and a nose for the net to go with our strength down the middle.

Yertle The Turtle 08-06-2004 04:53 PM

Mike Johnson?

Glen Murray?

Murray-Zhamnov-Knuble would be sweet.

Actually, this is how I see it.

By January Hull is a Flyers for Somik, a career minor leaguer, and a pick. Similar to the Amonte trade.

didn't phoenix just sign morris long term?...seems they are deep with young talented dmen though (mara, tanabe etc.)

I'm not sure if they did, but if they haven't yet I'm sure they will soon.

Hell, why not cut out the middle man and send Amonte and Somik out to Phoenix for Hull? :joker:

So does this mean Hull will be a Flyer by the trade deadline, just like Phoenix's last big free agent signing?
