Parise: How do we get him?

Go.

(Apparently "Go." is too short of a message.)

BourqueBourqueBork 08-05-2011 11:48 PM

Does Taylor Swift need a boyfriend?

kypredsfan 08-05-2011 11:57 PM

Sign Suter long term then wait for him as a free agent or deadline pickup. Then the best pals can play together. :handclap:

Nah, I'm not gonna break up with her anytime soon. Not even for Parise. ;)

I Will Son 08-06-2011 12:03 AM

Were gonna get him in FA, or at the deadline if NJ sucks and were in the hunt. Expect a Dman, and a decent forward and another player or high pick. A man can dream right?

Paranoid Android 08-06-2011 12:07 AM

Honestly, the bigger question is: Is Parise even available to trade for right now? I doubt it.
My next question would be: Does adding him put us over our internal budget? Probably.

Our only shot to get Parise is at the trade deadline if NJ is way out of the playoff picture AND they can't get him re-signed. Even then, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lou hold on to him.

She's probably dating a King.

If not, I need to learn to skate ASAP...

Funny how people proposing trades like this for Weber get scoffed at and put down lol.

He will be a UFA at the deadline. Better to get something than nothing. Dont know why you always try to come over here and put down us preds posters. I dont find it amusing.

And did you notice how i said "a man can dream right?"

Rhodes 81 08-06-2011 05:23 AM

lou will not trade parise you'll have to hope for free agency to get him.

Gnashville 08-06-2011 07:35 AM

Have hell freeze over!!

No way are WE getting Parise. Poile is too Conservative, Ownership is too cheap, and Trotz doesn't like scoring Goals.

Black helicopter, burlap bag, flex cuffs .......

You don't.

Classic Devil 08-06-2011 08:29 AM

You sign him as a free agent. I think the chance of Lou trading him is absolute zero.

The chance of him becoming a UFA is absolute zero.

I tend to think you're right, but it's a higher likelihood than him being traded.

It's not. New Jersey will trade him before it gets to that point, rather than lose him for nothing.

No. We won't. As long as we're in the playoff hunt, under no circumstances will Parise be traded. It's not the way Lou does business.

DPyro 08-06-2011 08:45 AM

You know you can still trade a player before free agency.

At that point his value would have depreciated so much that any trade would basically be "losing him for nothing."

mja 08-06-2011 08:48 AM

I'm assuming you've seen Borat, you know the part where he tries to get Pamela Anderson to marry him? Yeah, like that.

I would have loved to get anything for Mats Sundin.

Agree. I think he could get to ufa but odds definitely are stacked against it. Probably would take a coach issue, kovy issue, team performance issue or serious injury. If he does make ufa AGMSW will have poile in the bidding.

Yes we can all dream but if I am dreaming I am dreaming of Stamkos not Parise honestly hell it is a dream go big or go home I say lol.

glenngineer 08-06-2011 09:48 AM

We give them Weber in return for Parise, all contingent upon Suter and Rinne already being signed and Parise agreeing to re-sign with us as well, all long term contracts. That's the only way it happens IMO.
