Time for a new thread....

Tebow for President :sarcasm:

Drew Pomeranz's first start in the Rockies organization was tonight at AA Tulsa.

7 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 4 K

Not a bad first impression by the youngster. :)

Alex Jones 08-17-2011 11:13 PM

Alex White has been pitching very well also.

Alex Jones 08-17-2011 11:19 PM

In the future it will be fun to watch Chacin, White and Pomeranz at the front end of the rotation.

Tyler Matzek is a wild card, but he's been pitching much better the last month or so. His BB rate is still brutal (around a walk per inning) but when he throws strikes his stuff is devastating.

And Jorge De La Rosa and Juan Nicasio. Our Rotation may be great in a couple of years if all things go as planned.

Well I'm not so sure about JDLR's future, and while Nicaso would make a great four or five to round out the rotation, I'd rather see him get moved sometime in the future for a position player (read: Second base), especially if Matzek or Friedrich step up.

JWK 08-18-2011 01:07 PM

Personally I think Nicasio would be better in the bullpen, I always thought that way from the start. Let him just develop his two best pitches, because his third pitch right now(can't quite remember what it was) is kind of lacking.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're doing bad next year and DLR is healthy, he could opt out of his contract to go to a contender.

Fire McDaniels!

With the Rockies or in general? Tommy John's Surgery actually makes arms stronger if they the pitcher rehabs correctly.

No, I'm simply stating that he may not be in the rockies long term future. He's got next year and a third year option at eleven mil. At that contract, if the rockies have any doubt about him they can take the one mil buyout. IMO, he has to have a dynamite year next year to not get bought out. Although, like many pitchers he may come back really well, there is certainly no guarantee of his future with the Rockies.

If he plays like he did this year, I'd think they'd keep him. He's the closest thing we have to an Ace.

Chacin is eighth in NL pitcher WAR. He also leads the league in walks. If he throws strikes consistently, he has all-star talent.

JWK 08-18-2011 10:58 PM

Chacin could had been an all-star this year, think he had better #'s than Lincecum. Also Alex White did great today in AA, 7 2/3|3hits|4K|1BB|0ER. Need those numbers to translate in Coors.

He's fallen off recently. He had a great first half, but has faltered since. He's still been good, but he needs some more time to be considered an "ace"

Didn't even know Invesco Field got re-named. I blame him.

Why even kick off the ball anymore. Just place it on the 20. Just call a 10 minute intermission after every score to make sure to get all the commercials in though. Yawn. The pusification of the NFL continues.

I guess he picks stocks like he picks players and assistants.

pomeranz with an emergency appendectomy, and out for the season, he sure lasted long before being hit by the curse of the denver sports team

Colorado Sports Fan 08-21-2011 12:21 AM

So...what comes first...the Tebow trade request or Brady Quinn being made perminent #2?

Bonzai12 08-21-2011 01:18 AM

Quinn looked really good. Gotta admit...

The Mars Volchenkov 08-21-2011 01:48 AM

What exactly was wrong with Moore's hit?

WR was defenseless. That hit was legal 3~4 years ago but not today.
