Claude Giroux Training & Point Predictions

Gonna be doing my hockey pool draft this weekend, so was wondering how you guys think Giroux's gonna do this year points wise?

Will he see a jump with the Richards/Carter departures, or should he still be around the 70-80 range?

Also, saw this sick video featuring some of his offseason training so thought I'd share...

70-80 sounds about right

Spongolium* 09-09-2011 01:57 PM

eleventybillion. But seriously 105.

Crossbar Ping 09-09-2011 02:00 PM

75-90 pts, depending on the rest of our offense.

Im a firm believer that Giroux can be in the top 6 in scoring for several years. Question is when.

DUHockey9 09-09-2011 02:05 PM

I'm feeling 86 points.

Beef Invictus 09-09-2011 02:43 PM

83.

3 goals, 80 assists.

Does that mean Voracek and JvR get 40 each? :amazed:

Giroux - 100
vanRiemsdyk - 100
Schenn - 100
Couturier - 100
Voracek - 100
Briere - 65

Shelley has 79. The last one is split among the rest of the team.

SeanVT395 09-09-2011 03:04 PM

Realistically speaking, I see a top line of JvR-Giroux-Shelley breaking down statistically like this:

Giroux
2-98-100

JvR
98-2-100

Shelley
2-2-4

Cluth is definitely the word for him.

he's is by far the most cluth player in the league!

DrinkFightFlyers 09-09-2011 03:55 PM

I'd say 75-80 is about right.

I am really excited about him. The sky is the limit for this kid and his drive is amazing. He will average better than a ppg this year. He will be 23 for most of the season and he is far more mature than his age. He is a special player and I am glad we have him on our team where we can watch him improve every year. There was only one Bobby Clarke. But Claude has a lot of Clarkie's traits and that is not a bad thing.

With better hands too, in my opinion.

My first fantasy draft has begun (it's an e-mail draft).

Though there's more than just points involved (it's a Yahoo! rotisserie pool), I was pretty shocked when Claude went off the board at 10th overall.

Crossbar Ping 09-09-2011 07:08 PM

Yup, i live in van city too , but im gonna be choked if someone grabs him before i can. 10th man, holy crap.

Lebanese Leaf 09-30-2011 10:13 AM

I got high hopes for Giroux, so I'm wishing the best for him.

I took him 4th round (36th overall) in my 10 team league (first 3 picks were Malkin, Lundqvist, Weber), ahead of C's like Tavares, Mike Richards, Sharp, Duchene.

Midnight Oil 09-30-2011 10:15 AM

I'm expecting around 86 points from Giroux next year.

RevUpThoseGolfCarts 09-30-2011 10:19 AM

I know he wants to be a playmaker but he really needs to shoot more

Yeah he does he has a good shot and can really deke out a goalie. On Youtube their is a tribute to him and he scores some awesome goals but I don't know how to upload the video to these boards.

My range as well, but he's looking great with Jagr so our PP could be great - and he might get more.
