Interesting, most people say over 22 wins. We only had 27 last year and we were horrible after the trading deadline and our defense will be weaker. Yet, most people say a top 3 pick so Im guessing you guys figure like 23 wins, otherwise we aint getting a top 3 pick.

melisa 08-19-2004 05:51 PM

Yep. I figured 23-24 wins tops. If Jagr gets hurt for any significant amount of time we won't win 20.

NYRangers 08-19-2004 05:52 PM

Im guessing we win 20. 7 games worse with this team seems right to me.

Pittsburgh and Chicago have improved alot in the off-season so I look for them to both get around 30 wins.

Columbus and Washington will both be around 25 and so will the Rangers.

All we have to do is finish in the top-5 to get the 1st overall pick, so no worries if we get 27 again.

The day I see the NHL allow us to win the lottery is the day the Red Sox win the pennant.

Then put money on the Sox next year.

Anyone care for a Ewing Lottery theory for the Rangers next season?

Balej20* 08-19-2004 06:35 PM

22 Wins - Under (Call me crazy, 27- **GASP** 30 if we play a full season)

20 Goals for Balej - About right/under

15 Goals for Lundmark - About right/under

68 Points for Nylander - Over

30 points for Pock - over

8 Rookies playing at one time during the season - over

80 points for Jagr - over

55 games played for Dunham - Over (he may not play one)

3rd pick in the draft (pre Lottery) - too low

Poti traded by 2/1/05 - Hope so/probably not

If the NHL was going to help anyone win the lottery (they won't) it would be the Rangers.

The fact that the Rangers and Blackhawks have sucked for the last 5-7 years hruts the TV ratings in a big way.

TV ratings in NY are always good. But IDK, I think Bettman hates us. Rodent might have have a piece on that and how hes conspiring against us or it was another HB poster.

TV ratings in NY and Chicago would be much better in April, May and June if the teams were good.

Ratings drop when your teams is no longer playing.

If Bettman had his wishses come true the final 8 teams remaining would be:

East

Rangers
Flyers
Leafs
Bruins

West

Red Wings
Avalanche
Blackhawks
Canucks or Kings

Assuming a full season played

22 Wins - Over

20 Goals for Balej - Under

15 Goals for Lundmark - Under

68 Points for Nylander - Under

30 points for Pock - Under

8 Rookies playing at one time during the season - Under - 8 will play, but not in the same game

80 points for Jagr - Under - due to an injury where he misses some game

55 games played for Dunham - Under

3rd pick in the draft (pre Lottery) - Over (3rd-6th)

Poti traded by 2/1/05 - If he goes it'll be at the trade deadline

I think your numbers were pretty good. Most will fall right about where you set the lines.
