Video or it didn't happen :naughty:

BlueDream 09-25-2011 03:26 PM

Brad Boyes threw a hit?

I don't believe it.

NYR94 09-25-2011 03:28 PM

Another suspension. Might as well have a sticky thread for "Shanny's Suspension Videos."

Rhett4 09-25-2011 03:31 PM

When Brad Boyes is getting suspended for hits, you know it's going to be an interesting season...

BackGroundMusic 09-25-2011 03:32 PM

He had two choices: don't hit him at all or do what he did. The Leafs player was leaning over. If players are going to insist on ducking when they're about to get hit, they're going to get hit in the head.

zachws6 09-25-2011 03:45 PM

Poor boyes. He is such a good guy. Only 2 pre-seasons though.

They can hand out a suspension for this less then a day later, but are still reviewing both hits from the Wild/Jackets game on Friday?

Powdered Toast Man 09-25-2011 03:49 PM

That is a ******** suspension. The puck was right there.

I'm guessing it's because both Staubitz and Wiz are going to get 5+ games.

Also, I'm sure Boyes didn't have an in-person hearing.

Banana Sandwiches 09-25-2011 03:53 PM

This suspension is pointless. Boyes doesn't lose any money and he only misses pre-season action. Brad Boyes is obviously not vying for a spot on the Sabres so this suspension doesn't mean anything (he probably wasn't going to play 2 straight pre-season games anyway).

interference has nothing to do with rule 48..

headsigh 09-25-2011 03:54 PM

only preseason time, so this is kind of pointless. if anything it's a "statement" suspension to draw the line in the sand.

StrangeVision 09-25-2011 03:54 PM

They really aren't messing around with this suspension business.

Head was the principal point of contact...

Moore Money 09-25-2011 03:56 PM

Shanny is gonna be busy this year.. wow

Talk Hockey 09-25-2011 03:56 PM

Thank goodness Coulborne is ok. He's already had a concussion in his career.

Ashasx 09-25-2011 03:57 PM

I'm sorry, but this is getting a little ridiculous.

Freudian 09-25-2011 03:58 PM

Boyes will be Boyes.

tp71 09-25-2011 03:58 PM

I'm kinda surprised to be honest.

Agreed. If the puck is right there, elbows to the head should be allowed.

did you actually see the hit? cause the leafs player was far from leaning over or ducking down.

zachws6 09-25-2011 04:01 PM

Boyes has got to be up there in current Iron Man rankings. I'm glad he isn't getting any regular season suspension time. That would have been pretty unfortunate.

SJSharks2010 09-25-2011 04:04 PM

Colborne literally skated head first into Boyes' shoulder. If you're gonna be that stupid, you deserve to get hit in the head.
