Yes he is...Was checking on TSN all the players on waivers and checking their scout reports wondering if they are worthy of a pick up and lo and behold I see Trotter ...waived...mtl...





Side note ANA...waived ex mtl Carle.

Out of all players Trotter is our first cut? I don't get it.

Is he not in the line up tonight?

Some players were already cut so he's not the first.

You can still play with the team while being on waivers.

AHL camp starts tomorrow. He's gonna be one of the leaders on the Hamilton's squad.

So why Henry, Lawson and Willsie are not on waivers too?

I wonder if there is any chance he goes back to Russia

Maybe they still need them for another game. I would keep Henry as the 7th d-man.

We could have him + Valentenko + JT Wyman back in Hamilton.... ;)

I assume Trotter came back knowing that he would likely be sent to Hamilton.

They could be put on waivers and remain here after.

But these three would not be worse than Weber, Woywitka or Engqvist.

****. He was one of my surprise at the camp. I really liked him. I guess the management thought they had too many small forwards and have more confidence in Palushaj..

I didn't think he looked very good but I will say I was shocked at how much his skating and foot speed seemed to have improved since I last saw him. Maybe it's the white skates but he really looked faster then I recall. I wouldn't be surprised if he led the Dogs in scoring this year.

Montreal probably expected more in the pre-season from Trotter after he had a decent inter-squad camp. If he gets picked up good for him as he will get a chance elsewhere, but I see him being that AHL call up anywhere else too.

Some of you guys are acting like the Habs have given up on him just because he's on waivers...I don't think that's the case. He wasn't good enough to make the team, which I don't think was a surprise to anyone, and waivers was an inevitability. So there you have it.

At this time of year there are so many fringe players like Trotter on waivers that it's a pretty good bet he'll go through untouched, and then he can be called up throughout the year and reevaluated next year...no big deal.

These three players are a leap ahead of JT Wyman, Carle and Valentenko in terms of NHL readyness.

if this guy ever makes the NHL, well I would have been wrong. But with the loss of Dawes and Boyd, Hamilton needs his scoring touch.

I thought Trotter looked terrible in his own zone and got caught every time he tried a spin-o-rama in the offensive zone, getting hit hard at least once while trying it (Buffalo?) ...anyway, I really wasn't impressed. He is fast and skates well but didn't do anything with it.

He looks like a prototypical AHL stud to me. I can't see him being good enough to crack an NHL top-6, and he has no place in a bottom-6. For fill-in duty, he'd be ok. But I like his odds of being a star for the Bulldogs. :handclap:

Now, what happened to JT Wyman and McFadden? Anyone?

edit: I see that Wyman was signed by the Bolts to likely play for its AHL affiliate. Now where is Josh McFadden?

Wyman is with Tampa and McFadden is injured.
