Missouri State Ice Bears dye ice pink for cancer awareness month
Missouri State Ice Bears Top Boise State With Pink Ice For Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The story reads:
Okay, this is my home rink.
The idea for the ice painting actually is tied the women's hockey tournament in town, which is being held Oct. 15-16. They weren't sure how well the paint would hold up, so originally they were going to put it down next Sunday.
But once they figured out a system where they could make it last two weeks and still look good, they extended it to this week as well and got the Ice Bears in on the act. MSU is going to be wearing special jerseys this weekend and auctioning them off after Saturday's games.
I'm playing in the women's tourney, and our jerseys are about that color. We're the Hooters. It will be good times. And yes, the rink is that pink in person. I'm curious to how well the color comes through after a game when the surface is choppier. Tomorrow is the first day people are going to get to play on it.
How well did it hold up? I didn't get to see any of the games when it was done this way?
