Anyways, good deal for both sides. In today's NHL, in which salaries play such a big part, the Caps ridded themselves of Carter's contract (and also a possible contract headache this summer). They got a fine young prospect in Aulin who should become a fine player someday. Meanwhile the Caps added a capable scorer in Carter who they hope will push them over the hump and into the playoffs.
