Because a prospect is a prospect: most of them never pan out like you hope they would. Case in point: Shane Willis. Everyone thought he'd do well in this league, then he met Mr. Stevens in the playoffs. Hasn't been the same player since. To his credit, it doesn't seem like Lightning management has that much faith in him.

If every player you or I had high hopes on panned out, this league would be complaining there was too much scoring You make it out like above average is a bad thing.
