I briefly tried the HIT before spraining my ankle pretty badly this summer but after only a week I was noticing more acceleration, I did it on a bike and did exactly what saveourpens said, except at right before I did the cool down I went full speed for as long as I could hold it. It's a really exhausting workout but it gets you pretty quick results.
