Anybody catch Don Cherry's comments on the Leaf's defense last Saturday? He called it a "Sweetheart Defense" that needed grit. Went on to say they desparately needed to get Bryan Marchment back in the lineup, called Marchment the toughest defenseman in the league. Well, I couldn't help but think of how Craig Rivet manhandled Marchment, and how Souray could do an even better job, and that Quintal could beat him too. Our defense is tougher than the Leafs.

Guys, I don't want this to become a rant against Cherry and/or the Leafs. This thread is about the Habs defense, and I mention Cherry's comments only to illustrate that we have some toughness, to go along with Souray, Markov and Brisebois' offensive abilities. Boullion is playing well, and there's Komi's raw talents. It's a decent defense corps that is a bit underrated when they're all healthy and playing well.

I'm ok going into the playoffs with these guys.
