I was in the same situation as you were about a month or so ago. I found the first few games a little different in terms of skating and flow. The league I am in we play 4 on 4, which is weird when you are use to playing 5 on 5. but you get use to it after the first game or so. In terms of skating backwards. It only matters if you are a defensemen. I am so I have worked on my skating. You will find it hard to turn till you work your wheels in. DO NOT use your indoor wheels anywhere else. I learned the hard way. Also rotate your wheels on your skate so that you wear both sides of them equally. I do it every 2 games. Also stopping is a little different. Something I have yet to master in inline hockey games. But you should get use to it. As for equipment, I think it ran me 365 or around there. I got all my stuff at the shop at the rink. Check the catalogs there.
