A) Ryder has played well wih any centre he has played with this year...Perreault, Koivu, Ribs and now Dowd. Ryder is the type of player that doesn't need to be set up all the time, he is a guy that can carry the puck in and let the nice wrister or snap shot go and do it by himself, but he is a good rebound jumper too and ha had success with Bulis too. Not a demotion in any terms, CJ knows the kid is versital and can play with anyone...these two with him are two good hard workers and love to play hard, they are a good fit.

B) Dagenais can only play with Ribs, he has no chemistry with other players on the team really. If Dags should faulter Ryder will get back on this line and Dagenais will more than likely find a seat in the pressbox or go back to Hamilton. Dags is too soft for the playoffs. (I don't agree with NWT Habs Fan when he says Dagenais "sets up shop" better, Dags can't and won't take the pounding or do the gritty work for a goal like Ryder will.)

C) Ryder will still get his PP, this kid is too good and plays too hard not to get proper icetime. Plus playing with these two guys in Dowd and Bulis might be a learning period for him by CJ so he can be better aware defesively and responsible for his own zone for the playoffs. With Dowd and Bulis his icetime minutes might actually go up.

*EDIT* If anything I was more disappointed in the break up of the Ward-Dowd-Begin line than the Ryder-Riberio-Kovalev line. That checking line was great to watch and very effective against the other teams top lines. CJ may have to go back to that too.
