Balej was a boom or bust prospect of ours, and already having Perezhogin and Ryder on the right side, there was no real need for him. He would have rotted in our farm system and taken ice time away from one of our better prospects in Perezhogin. Its nice to have a farm full of young guys, but you need to let some go once in awhile for help on your actual NHL team. Balej is getting time to develop on the Rangers big team, something he may never have gotten here with our deep prospect core, so it really doesnt matter at this point. Hes gone, so theres no use crying about it.

Perezhogin is the better player no doubt about it, and should be given every oppurtunity to earn a spot with the Habs next season, hopefully flanking Koivu's right side with Zednik.
