I just think it's time to move on. It's time for new Captains and new traditions. I feel that as long as Messier is still on the team then the team will be molded and shaped to his likeness. Messier will always be my favorite player, both because of the type of player he was and for what he meant to NYR hockey. Those two things can never be questioned. But, with Messier, there comes a lot of clout. And it seems that the universal opinion about him is that until he's gone from the Rangers, the Ranger will never be able to rebuild. I think Messier still has a season of hockey left in him, but it should be played elsewhere. I mean, 17 goals isn't bad for a 43 year old, playing most of that time with Barnaby and Simon. It's time for the Rangers to change face. Time for a new regime.
