My first game was Minnesota vs. Winnipeg : saw Pie McKenzie, Shakey Walton and Dave Keon on the Saints, and Winnipeg had the fantastic line of Nilsson, Hedberg Hull. The first iteration of the Saints were okay, although they had a lot of goons like Jack Carlson, Gord Gallant, Pat Westrum. The second iteration were brutal. The Hanson brothers, er, the Carlson brothers played for them. Very much a Slapshot ambiance in those days. Tix were cheap too, so it attracted a different breed of fan than one finds in NHL arenas today - very blue collar, loud. It was fun.
