This is true, but look at NYR. Its not superstars that make you good. We have a TON of overpaid players. Chelios, Shanahan, Hull, Hasek even Yzerman and especially Cujo. The thing is, the real players we need are Draper, Datsyuk, Maltby, Zetterberg, Legace. This is what holds our team together. None of those guys make over 2 mil. Not to mention, everybody here in Detroit is thanking there lucky stars for our AHL call-ups from the Grand Rapids Griffins. They're the reason we have the record we do. If it weren't for the depth of our team and those AHLers that played with such heart, we'd be struggling to stay in the top 3 seeds in the west.

Not to mention, if it werent for the new CBA, it wouln't be too long before teams like Tampa Bay are asking for more money.
