I think that Koivu was really having a strong training camp before he blew his knee. He was fast like you wish he could be. But when he came back he wasn't really skating well. But it will come back like it was sooner because it's the kind of thing (knee injury) that can slow you down for a season. Well when he came back he wasn't in shape and it took time before he was at 100% again. When he was back in shape, he was producing with his smart play. Now since Jan or Feb, he's really spectacular, gritty and smart. In his last 55 games he has 54 points, if you do the math he would be beind only Sakic and Lang! Come on, we only see the highlights plays of the nhl star players but Saku's really there with those guys production-wise, in a defense-first system playing with no star wingers. Plus he brings you defense, intensity and everything you want out of a 5'10 center. Capitaine Courage forever.
