While I don't think Higgins is a defensive player, I just think it will take him two or three seasons before he can really contribute offensively and become a top 6 player. But in the meantime, he would be a very good 3rd line winger with some offensive upside.

Higgins isn't like some guys who are only good for top 6 or nothing. He'll start off as a fiesty 3rd liner who can play good defence and chip in with some goals here or there and maybe get 30 or 40 pts his 1st season. But over the years he'll slowly develop his offensive skills to the point where he's a good 1st line winger and a 25-35 type of player who will be a complete player at both ends of the rink.

Just the way I see it.
