At the end of the day, he was a fringe prospect on a bad team. His play probably didn't earn him any real attention outside of the Jackets.

Hopefully this decision doesn't leave him full of regrets. People struggle their whole lives to achieve something he just threw away.
From what I understand, Jay Feaster in Tampa had to spend a bunch of money to get him out of Russia to begin with so, I would imagine that he has burned a lot of bridges with his actions for sure.
