It is a great move. The Habs have some decent depth in the farm as far as goalies go, but none that scream and shout #1 goalie in the NHL. Fichaud has done a great job being a good replacement for Garon in Hamilton, Damphousse is decent but inconsistent in Hamilton, Michaud is still just a first year pro and still too early to tell, Tarasov isn't coming back to North America and likely will finish in the RSL, Puurula has struggled with consistency and ice time in the top Finnish league, and Halak and Heino-Lindberg are far too young to tell.

The Habs now have two good young goalies in the NHL, who still have lots of hockey left in them. Garon will eventually become more vocal and want to play more than 1 game a month, and rightfully so. At that point, the Habs will need to have a blue chip prospect in the minors ready to step in and be the backup. Maybe that player is Danis, I guess we will all have to follow his Hamilton games with interest and see what impact he makes.
