I think a ton of teams use it...just not all the time. They might whip it out if they are like protecting a lead or something late, one team I'd say that really runs it is Minnesota.

You can run a trap many different ways, but it's just generally hard forechecking and funneling the puck to an area. Then once the puck moves there, you either have someone there ready to break it up or you funneled the puck into an area where you can get numbers and swarm it before the other team can get it into your offensive zone. It's really effective if you can get a quick transition out of it and get your own scoring chance.
