I don't know if Easton still makes wood blades, at least standard taper. TPS Nash is VERY close, and Bauer P92 is pretty close as well.
Most wood blades last me 8-10 ice times before the bottom starts to wear through the fiberglass, then they start to splinter and get soft. You can get more life out of them if you remove your tape right after every ice time (to prevent moisture from weakening the blade).
Here's the equipment I have for blades:
- Heat gun (I use a $40 Milwaukee model from Home Depot)
- Glue gun (I just use a cheap $5 one from Home Depot)
- A whole bunch of glue sticks (again, cheap $5 ones from Home Depot)
- A roll of hockey tape (in case the blades don't fit tight enough)
