Gainey was talking to Yvon Pedneault at RDS lately and talking about Kovalev he said that ''it's not every player, as talented they can be, who can adjust to their new team. For me, it's a statement saying that even Gainey is dissapointed that Kovy didn't adjust far. I seriously don't understand how you guys can be dissapointed as well. Kovy didn't adjust well but Leetch,Gonchar, Nedved, Nylander, Bondra did and so on. We have a right to expect a lot because Kovy can give a lot, that's all. Even his defensive coverage is sub-par so I would expect from a player having his kind of slump to , at least, play hard and show a little effort defensively.

Also, we have to stop that ''because he played for the Rangers'' he's not in shape...
As far as I know Leetch, Nedved, DeVries did play for them and they show much more so far...

But remember, I'll either be the first or the second most happy person if he turns this around as I'm sure he will be
