It's really a moot point. Tyutin isn't flashy enough in either end to garner much attention. He isn't dominant defensively like Jackman and he won't put up points like Berard (the last 2 d-men to win the Calder).

The way he plays will garner plenty of attention and recognition but I'd agree with you in saying that it's probably not going to be enough to get him the Calder trophy. Then again, it all depends on his rookie class. This years' was an extremely strong one, the strongest in a while.
