The game is a foot

Let's see how these two teams match up and who is the better team. We rank them by points, positions and all other intangibles.

Left Wing

Bondra - 50 points Roberts - 48 points (even)
Schafer - 39 points Tucker - 32 points (even)
Vermette - 14 points Renberg - 25 points (Renberg)
Varada - 10 points Reichel - 30 points (Reichel)
Langfeld - 17 points Kilger - 2 points (Langfeld)

Right Wing

Hossa - 82 points Nolan - 48 points (Hossa)
Alfredson - 80 points Mogilny - 30 points (Alfredson)
Havlat - 68 points Fitzgerald - 17 points (Havlat)
Neil - 16 points Domi - 20 points (Domi - barely)

Centre

Spezza - 55 points Sudin - 75 points (Sundin)
Smolinski - 46 points Nieuwendyk - 50 points (even)
Bonk - 43 points Francis - 40 points (even)
White - 29 points Andropov - 31 points (even)
Fisher - 10 points Stajan - 27 points (even - intangibles)
(Fisher 24 games - Stajan 69 games)
Van Allan - 12 points Ponikarovsky - 27 points (Ponikarovsky)

Defence

Redden - 43 McCabe - 53 points (McCabe)
Chara - 41 Leetch - 51 points (even - intangibles)
Phillips - 23 Kaberle - 31 points (Phillips - intangibles)
de Vries - 16 Klee - 29 points (Klee)
Pothier - 8 Berehowskey - 20 points (Berehowsky)
Simpson - 8 Pilar - 19 points (Pilar)
Leshyshyn - 5 Johanson - 6 points (even)
Volchenkov- 3 Marchment - 4 points (even)

Wow, closer than I thought and it looks like the edge goes to the stinking Leafs. People have been talking in Ottawa all year about Redden and Chara having Norris Trophy years but McCabe looks to me like he may win it. Adding Leetch and Klee has improved their defence ten fold.
