They're in a situation where it's all but guaranteed that they will miss. There is time for reflecting on that in the off-season, but letting that consume your thoughts when you have a game to play would seem to be rather toxic to me.
A win in that game (or any of the other 5 losses lately), and the Avs are one Wild point lost away from win-and-in control of a playoff spot. It's been that close to them. It was not even close to over.

Duchene was obviously dwelling on one thing--getting 30. That's not a guy I want as my teammate. What a selfish mindset and action.
