Russian hockey techniques incorporate every technical aspect. A big part of Kovalev's and Fedorov's techniques comes from the fact they're flawless skaters, have excellent balance and more importantly are supple, if you have any stiffness then you're doing it wrong. That's really the first basic part. After that it's a combination of having the right skating technique, keeping the puck always in front of you and not on the side like a lot of kid and your own creativity for dekes.
