I'm surprised Jacques Lemaire didn't grab him. But it was a good pick by the Leafs. If they go deep, and have injuries, a guy like Kilger can work as a plug for some pretty big holes.
Give me a break. Kilger was given every opportunity to stick in Montreal. In fact, he was given more opportunities in Montreal than anywhere else he played. Due to a lack of depth with the team in recent years he was allowed to fill various roles, and he was given many chances over long stretches. I like Kilger, but he has wasted too many opportunities to be given an important role on this team. It would drive me crazy when he would have a game where he would use his speed and hit opposing players and make a difference on the ice, only to follow that up with numerous games where he was completely invisible. He might be a good guy, but he's wasting his chances.
