So you're saying an Arturs Irbe/Kevin Weekes duo can get a team past the 2nd round and Theo can't??
Carolina did not have a great team, I agree with you there. But they were on a killer hot streak and that's what counts in the playoffs. Montreal could have Hasek(in his prime) in net and wouldnt have won the first game, and maybe not even this one(and the team played fantastic). When a team scores one goal in two games, you gotta look elsewhere than the goalie for criticizing. Theo got us to the 2nd round (almost single-handedly) in 2002, and is a HUGE reason why we're here today. All we could get from Theo is a decent first liner or good second liner because right now, no quality teams really need a starter (and no poor teams will sacrifice their young guns for a goalie when theyre not contenders). And if you do trade Theo, do you really think that that first-liner will carry us to the finals with the team we have? And if Garon turns out to be a bust, who do we turn to? Damphousse??
You're allowed your opinion but, please, reflect on it a second and realize that there are maybe other things we should be worrying about than our goaltending situation. We weren't even expected to make it near the playoffs this year, we have tons of great prospects coming up from the AHL. If Theo brought us to the 2nd round with the team we had in 2002, imagine what he'll be able to do with the kids that are coming up from Hamilton.

Anyhow, glad to see Kovi playing so much. Thatll get his confidence going!
Let's go Habs! Let's take the next two at home!
