Goalies don't hit their prime until their late twenties, so if he doesn't go bust,he shouldonly get better.
Remeber he didn't spend a full year as a back up learning to be a NHLer. He came in and competed for the starting job after only one year as a full time starter in the AHL and with the pressure of being the godsend goalie that Boston has been mourning since Moog was unwisely dumped.
I think you guys are a little short sighted on this one, what pressure did Ryder have this year, he was a late round pick. Raycroft had alot of expectation surrounding him and he could have buckled. He didn't.
Is he a Vezina candidate?, not yet, even though if it were between the top 5 instead of top 3 you might have an arguement.
I think you have more important issues on your own team, such as why Theo, who IS a great goalie (at times) is off his game.
