Even when this team is playing well their are some serious flaws. They've never shown they can respond well to a hard forechecking system, teams that go to the net hard give them problems and their pp doesn't seem to work at all. Even when firing on all cylinders this team won't go far in the playoffs!

Not sure it doesn't make sense to trade off some of the vets and build a team around Gomez, Drury and some of the youth. With Lundqvist in net we are set for years -- now we need to build a solid defensive team around him. Think about it if we played a more responsible defensive system with a little more size and strength up front this team could be very good in a few seasons. What we did in November wasn't a mirage -- when we play a tight defensively with our goaltending we can win. Seems like this team has an identity crisis. They think they are way too talented to have to play d. Well we are far from that talented. We need to get back to playing good solid basic hockey without any frills. Personally I don't think that Jagr and some of the other vets can do it!
