I was hard on Dumont early on, but his game has increased by light years since the beginning of the season.
He's been a huge factor in our recent upswing.
Arnott definatly has an opinion about bringing him back next year:
"We've got to sign him,'' Arnott said. "I mean just for me personally, the chemistry we've created together is incredible. There's just no question they've got to get him signed.
"He's such a great guy in the dressing room and personality-wise to have on the team, and he's been one of our best leaders. It would be real sad if we did lose him and hopefully they'll get something done before the end of the year.''
Poile and Dumont:
"We've talked to his agent a little bit and we've conveyed we want to sign him,'' Poile said. "I don't know whether it's practical now or if it should wait until after the season. My preference is always to negotiate out of season, but sometimes the timing can be right.''
Said Dumont: "The contract stuff is not really in my hands. We would definitely like to stay here, but we'll see. If it happens, it happens. Hopefully it will.''
Does anyone else think that we we actually try to resign him? I have a feeling that unless some trades are made that we will not.
We are already at $30 million in actual salary for next season without Weber, Suter, Erat, Tootoo, Ellis, Klein, and Koistinen signed.
