But Parise is not Gionta or Pandolfo - Parise has oodles more talent and Gionta-like heart. He has a lot of work to do, but when was the last time NJ just ruined a prospect?
Ok sweet, he has 21 goals and an earth shattering 8 assists. So that puts him in the elite club with the likes of Nils Ekman, Dave Vybony, Mike Knuble, Alexander Daigle, ect. 20 goals mean little. 20 goals is a role player in my book. Hell, Gionta got outscored by defenseman like Mike Van Ryan and Nate Dempsey. And who cares what line he was on?! To me that just diminishes the goals and points he did accumulate. When you play with great players your obviously going to get better feeds and less defensive pressure on you. How many careers did Gretz and Lemieux make out of their linemates? Gionta is a role player, deal with it.
