It's all relative.. New Jersey moved up from a mid-20's spot with a 2nd rounder. Do you think that a team could trade a "2nd round pick and move up 4-5 spots" into the number one slot and grab Ovechkin? It costs more to move up the closer you want to get to that number one pick. I personally don't think it is crazy to move Dupuis + the 12th pick, I also am not entirely sure that a lot of teams would accept that. It is ridiculous to think that a 3rd round pick + the 12 pick overall will land you in spot number 7.
