I think Bowman intimidated a lot of officials and that the Wings really benefited on iffy calls when Scotty was coach.
But with Lewis as coach, I don't think we see that advantage. Sometimes, I think it goes the other way, as it appears the officials sometimes seem to make the Wings pay for their constant chirping (Hull/Yzerman/Shanahan/Chelios/Maltby/Draper ... these guys are always chirping at the refs.)
I have also seen it numerous times where the refs tend to let things more in respect to the veterans on the Red Wings. As long as the reffing is consistant that is all I ask for as last series vs Canucks it wasn't. One day they called all obstruction the next they didn't. Must be frustrating to players when it changes from day to day.
