I have no probs with Theo stopping it behind the net (he's pretty good at it), but he has to pull a Rivet and keep it Simple. His D have to communicate with him too.
Couldn't agree more. Same with the hand-switching. It's not easy for a right-handed (glove on right hand) goalie to play the puck like that. It didn't take long (about a game or two) for the Bruins to catch on and they usually had a winger right up against the boards. There were several near-misses by the Bruin winger along the wall just waiting for Theo's clear and shooting it at an empty net.
I'm a goalie and I'm not the greatest at clearing the puck, but the only thing I really worry about is stopping it behind the net. The only time I'm thinking pass is when my team is on the PP and the opposing team is dumping it down. With a fast offense such as the Lightning's, they could very well bury some of those clear-turn-giveaways.
