franchise QBs don't always equal championships. they command huge contracts that hurt the team because you can't fill the holes with good players because of cap room. even if eli ends up like peyton, ill only be happy if he wins us a super bowl. the team should have traded down after gallery went and focused on o-line and DEFENSE.
Packers, Broncos, 49ers, Rams, Patriots, and the Ravens. 5/6ths of these recent Super Bowl winning teams had "franchise" QBs who were Pro-Bowl caliber. The Ravens won with an insane defense, but unless this Giant team can find a Ray Lewis late in the first round, I'd say we should give up hope on that. The bottom line is that 5 out of 6 times you are going to need a Pro-Bowl quarterback who can lead your team down the field and into the promised land. Now it may not matter where that franchise QB comes from, but the bottom line is that you need him, ours happened to come with the 1st pick. Be excited.
