There's some good points on Salo or Osgood being lateral moves from Dunham, but I also think the better points are in regards to "who serves as the better mentor."

I wouldn't want Salo or Osgood, I'd rather see the kids get trial by fire (provided their makeup suggests they can handle it), but I would like Cloutier.

He might be the same as far as goaltending talent as Dunham, but I think his fierce competetiveness and toughness would fit it very well with a team trying to establish a young, tough identity.

McLennan has served the backup/mentor role for a few years, so he has the experience, but I'd prefer Cloutier over the rest of the names discussed..
