GDT: Flyers @ Leafs Game 3 19:00 PM EST

“The Maple Leafs seem to play with more recklessness there, and are a lot more physical in their own building. We’ll be ready for that, and we know that’s going to happen. It’s more getting ready for what the first period brings you. We saw some awfully wild first periods and we just need to be ready for it.”

Ken Hitchcock

Latest on KJ:

He was good almost right to the end of practice so that’s a really good sign,” said Hitchcock. “He hasn’t really tested it shooting it with any velocity yet, but we’ll certainly try that [Wednesday] and see where that goes.”

If we want any hopes of making a serious run to the cup, we need to take the Leafs out quick, which means 4 or 5 games. We'll have a better shot of doing that with a win tonight. 3-0 is nearly insurmountable, 2-1 with the next game at the A.C.C. is downright scary. Let's the put the stranglehold on them tonight, and let their panic sink in. Tampa Bay looks like they are going to the ECF real soon, so in order for us to match their energy, this series cannot go 6 or 7 games.
Tonight is must win, take the crowd out early, and stick to what has been working well. Esche will need to have a stellar game tonight for any hope of coming out of this one with the W. Quinn is drawing up a line of Roberts Sundin and Mogilny iin hopes of getting some better scoring chances, we need to counter them, and force them to play defence.

I stay optimistic.
