Ladies and gentlemen, it is March, and your Montreal Canadiens are the highest-scoring team in the league.

The supposedly defensively-minded, Carbonneau-coached, four fourth-lines, popgun-offense Canadiens score more goals per game than anyone in the NHL, including Ottawa and Detroit.

Who would have thought?
Clearly according to many here, our #1 need is for an "impact offensive forward" since the ruffians we have can't make any kind of impact in this league on their own.

BTW, we are something like 17th on defence. I submit that our real need is for a true, IMPACT defensive centreman - a guy whose IMPACT will be to reduce our goals against by 20 or more per year, and at the same time provide no less offence than Lapierre, Smolinski or Begin.

Does anyone think such an animal exists?
