I don't think it's that irrelevant.
Koivu waited all his career to be part of a good and competitive Habs team. No that we finally are, Im sure he'd be disappointed to become all of a sudden the 3rd line center.
Maybe he wouldn't and just be happy to have a solid veteran added for a cup run, but i still think he'd be disappointed.
Nonetheless, this trade didn't happen, so it is indeed useless to talk about this.
