for obvious reasons, arbitration is a risk I'm not willing to take, his value is very high right now and could be used to get us a higher pick. He is still very capable of playing top 2 minutes, and is in his prime right now. Id love to keep him, but financially, it doesnt make sense, we could get a similar player for cheap, and put his money towards a Petr Nedved.
asking: 2nd rounder, and a 3rd rounder.
doesn't seem to fit MacT's plans and continues to struggle finding a roster spot behind a very strong left side (Smyth, Moreau, York, Torres, Isbister). I still think he could be a good 2nd line centre on a young team. and a decent 4th liner on most teams. his speed cant go unnoticed, and he could excel in the right situation. (he seems to play great against Anaheim, so maybe a team on the left coast would be fitting.)
asking: mid-level pick or prospect
same story as Chimmer, caught in a bad situation where hes fighting for a roster spot, and isnt playing good enough consistently to steal one. should be a full time NHL'er by now, but like Chimera, if the coach doesnt like you, good luck getting decent ice time.

He's obviously worth more to us, then any other team, and he'll probably be a threat to reach 20-30 points again, and be a plus player, but his foot speed is gonna get exposed when the new rules take effect, better to move him for scraps now, and make room for the youngsters.
asking: 6th rounder
