And, as far as "grit" is concerned, I never made any conclusions. I said Savard was more "fiesty" - which is a different concept. Fiesty is being a aggressive, giving the other guy a shove, etc. I think of grit as taking a hit to make a play, going to the net through traffic, moving into the corners. Steve Yzerman is not a big guy, nor is he particularly physical, but he has always been very gritty.

Of course, I don't think Briere is fiesty OR gritty. But, that is another issue.

Fine. I'll swap "grit" with "fiestiness" but my point remains. I agree that Briere wasn't deserving of either adjective during his stint out West, but things have certainly changed in Buffalo. He was a sparkplug and a leader this season...and fiesty without a doubt. I'm not sure if you watched his play and just didn't see it or if you are generalizing based on reputation, but I think Briere deserves a little more credit here.
